"Restitutio ad integrum: промяна на парадигмата при дентална травма"

Д-р Джесика Джанатиемпо

From the pioneering era of Jens O. Andreasen to the present, the management of dentofacial
trauma remains one of the most ambitious dental challenges. Speed of thought, timeliness of
intervention, and deep knowledge of the guidelines can lead to aesthetic, phonetic, and functional
rehabilitation and its maintenance over time. More than 50 million Traumatic Dental Injuries (TDI)
occur each year worldwide, with a higher prevalence in preschool (6.1% to 62,1 %) and schoolage
children (5.3% to 21%). Observational studies suggest that traumatic events affecting the
oro-maxillo-facial district can have significant physical, emotional, and social implications.
Following a patient-centered approach, our goal is to develop a diagnostic and therapeutic
pathway through evidence-based protocols and an interdisciplinary view. In modern clinical
practice, the advanced integration between 3D radiology, intraoral scanning, and 3D printing has
already improved both user knowledge and the patient experience. The recent introduction of
Artificial Intelligence (AI) into clinical dentistry can play a key role in this process, helping
clinicians to provide better care at all stages of the patient journey. It's not just an evolution, it's a
revolution that is going to allow clinicians to overcome increasingly difficult challenges. Data
management, AI applications, and digital workflows are the new tools to achieve our lifelong goal:
patient healing.
